Systems Design, Thinking and Engineering

Abstract
System engineering is the science that attempts to maximize the potential of a system through the identification of requirements and goals, with the aim of finding information that will allow the system to operate at full capacity. System Design, Thinking and Engineering are three parts of a complex puzzle, all striving towards the better understanding of complex systems and through achieving better understanding, via looking into their concepts, applications, tools and techniques, allows for a more functional system. The aim of the paper is to highlight what each part of systems engineering is and what methods and concepts they make available. Through researching this it became apparent that there are several methods available to help in the understanding, design and implementation of a system. Culminating in the identification of what areas require further study, so as to better understand what a system is capable of.
